About Tom

Tom represents a new breed of Creative Director emerging from today’s full service agencies. A contemporary fusion of the traditional and the digital, Tom can not only conceive big communication ideas but also execute those ideas in an effective and original way across traditional, digital and emerging channels.

Tom is very commercially minded having founded and managed a successful digital agency for 8 years prior to his current role.

At Nitro London, Tom has run the integrated creative department for 3 years alongside ECD Richard Russell and previous ECDs Paul Shearer and Bruce Crouch. He sits on the London Executive Management Team headed up by CEO Kevin Dundas. Tom’s vision and experience has helped the agency achieve a genuinely integrated communications offering and production capability across traditional and digital channels. In his 3 years at Nitro, Tom has created work across a multitude of channels for a diverse range of clients including Nike, Volvo, Foot Locker, Mars, Unilever, COI, Drambuie, RBS, Tesco and The Beatles.

Tom co-founded Mook in 1999, one of the UK’s leading digital agencies. Nitro Group acquired Mook in 2006 to bolster the London office’s digital capability and integrated thinking.

At Mook, Tom grew and managed a thriving business and set the creative agenda for the agency. His single-minded vision for digital creativity brought awards and business results in equal measures for clients like Diesel, Peroni, PlayStation, MTV, BBC, Virgin, EMI, Channel 4, E4, Reuters, The Sunday Times, Reebok and Glastonbury Festivals.

Tom began his career in 1997 at one of the world’s first digital specialists, AMX Digital, under renowned graphic designer Professor Malcolm Garrett. At AMX Tom created pioneering digital media for clients including Guinness, Warner Music and Pepsi.

Tom is a regular speaker in the digital industry and has given talks for D&AD, ICA, IAB, BD4D, One Friday, Digital Hollywood and Hyper Island. He is also a member of the Creative Social network and judges the D&AD, BIMA and Scottish Design awards.
